Bistro Restaurant in the heart of Porto
Rich in History. Young at Heart.
When we created Bartolomeu, we were dreaming of far and exotic lands and adventures – just as the great Portuguese explorer Bartolomeu Dias did in the 15th century. At the same time, we wanted to pay tribute to this traveler´s homeland and the source of his inspiration, connecting the global with the local.
The result is Bartolomeu Bistro & Wine, an intimate and elegant yet relaxed place in an ancient palace in a prime location of Porto. The perfect spot to let yourself be whisked away from reality and embark on your own exotic journey in an ambience reminiscent of the African jungle.
Sip a glass of fine Portuguese wine and accompanied by a sample of typical Portuguese specialties or enjoy lunch or dinner with friends in our uniquely inspiring space. Come and be part of what we are – a place to dream of the past, a place to celebrate the present. Come and ignite your curiosity – just as Bartolomeu Dias did.
Great wines, one at a time.
Everything in Bartolomeu is about wine - the conversation, the food, the people. Take a break in the heart of the city and enjoy some of the finest wines that Portugal has to offer in our elegant, yet relaxed environment. Our wine list consists of Portuguese wines from all regions. We chose small producers whose focus is on quality rather than quantity. Of course, we also have Champagne. Our wine list is so extensive that we hope you will want to come by time and time again and enjoy something different every time.
Simply. Great. Food.
We believe in great, simple food.
Our menu offers you a fine selection of dishes to accompany your choice of wine. All our products are local, fresh, and of high quality.
Our menu is based on typical Portuguese dishes with a French twist – a typical Bistro & Wine. And as the seasons change, so do we: Depending on what mother nature has on offer, we will modify the menu accordingly to make sure you always enjoy the best.
"Good food is very often, even most often, simple food."
"Wine is sunlight, held together by water"
